Born with a head full of white hair, 19-year-old Sarah Millich still boasts her naturally blonde locks and exudes a love for life, music, dance and cute boys – especially Zac Efron, the Jonas Brothers and Cole Sprouse of “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody!”
Vivacious and fun-seeking, Sarah has lived in Summerlin her entire life, and her parents, Dee and Alisa Millich also work in Summerlin. Alisa is the GATE teacher at Goolsby Elementary, while Dee is with Pulte Homes, a longtime Summerlin homebuilder.
A graduate of Palo Verde High School, Sarah now attends A-Tech where she is learning life skills to hopefully reach her dream of landing a job. Her dream job? Target! Target, are you listening????
Like any 19-year-old, Sarah loves to shop, so naturally, Downtown Summerlin is one of her favorite places to hang out. And her family’s home is just steps from Spotted Leaf Park where she loves to walk and play.
With an intense love of singing and dancing, Sarah recently attended Big Time Rush at the MGM Grand. It was a huge milestone experience for Sarah who hopes to put more concerts on her bucket list.
When asked how she wants to be known, Sarah is quick to say that she is a good friend and counts many others as friends. While at Palo Verde High School with her two older sisters, Sarah’s friend list included her sister’s friends, so she enjoyed an especially wonderful level of popularity that only seems to grow with everyone she meets.
So, Summerlin, as we mark Down Syndrome Awareness Month during October, if you see Sarah Millich shopping at Downtown Summerlin, walking in the park or dancing whenever the spirit moves her, please stop and say “hi.” You’ll have a friend for life!
